Victorious GoodDay (a.k.a Victoria Buendia) is a native Texan with a deep and abiding love for orangey Texas sunsets. Her companion in mischief, Lila (also Texas native), is her hardy Black Mouth Cur (a type of hound dog - the breed of dog in Old Yeller). Victoria’s preferred state of being is coffee in hand, all the while having deep philosophical-theological-psychological chats on the porch. She finds her greatest sense of peace in nature, hiking, propagating her plantees, playing music, and praying before the Blessed Sacrament.

(“Victoria,” meaning “Victorious” or “Victory,” and “Buendia,” in Spanish meaning "have a good day,” led to the creation of her pen name “Victorious GoodDay.”)
Victorious GoodDay seeks to speak truth through beauty by integrating philosophy, theology, psychology, and art. What began as journaling to process and reflect the newfound time of early quarantine in May 2020, eventually became a newfound love for writing and delving into deep topics of the human condition.
She began documenting her “random insights,” as she called them, and overtime felt called to share them. Hoping they would provide a sense of wonder and peace in others the way they did for her, she began the blog in December of 2022. While it has been a slow work in progress, she continues to write and release work as she is able. Most of her inspiration comes from the million and one podcasts and books she listens to, prayer, and long car rides that give her time to think.
Texas native singer-songwriter and pianist, Victoria Buendia, combines a soulfully rich voice with ethereally-atmospheric jazzy tones. Writing from the heart, she seeks to create a soul-filled connection with others while also alluding to a deeper sense of wonder and truth. Containing elements of folksy, bluesy, jazzy, and soulfully introspective feels and sounds, her unconventional methods introduce changes to bars, meters, and traditional songwriting formatting.
Her father, a gifted aficionado in all things iconic and classic, introduced her to the greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, and Sinatra and showed her the power of live music. Her mother, a gifted vocalist herself, sang around the home while Victoria grew up filling her childhood with joy and music. Surrounded by this atmosphere of loving and cherishing music, as well as an appreciation for the value of art, beauty, history, and the meaning and purpose within all things, she cultivated a contemplative lens through which she views her life and the human condition. Seeking to speak to this in her work, she often often illustrates themes of the hidden beauty and truths found within all things.

My writing is based solely on my opinions, thoughts, and understandings of philosophy, teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, modern science, and what life has taught me. I do not presume to speak for anyone other than myself. My goal is always to share as authentically and true as I know it to be on all subjects areas I touch on. If you find something contradictory to the teachings of the Catholic Church, widely accepted scientific findings, or historical facts please charitably reach out and I will work with you to resolve the discrepancy.
